Our history

The Amfiteatru Foundation is an organization built over time through initiatives that have tested the conviction that sustainable development is built from within.

Over the years, we have connected fields often treated separately in public administration. Education, tourism, health, culture, heritage, community development, professional training, and social innovation constantly intersect in the territory, requiring integrated solutions.

Key Milestones:

• 2000: Establishment of the Foundation.

• 2001–2004: First editorial and cultural programs (spaces for public dialogue on identity, culture, and society).

• 2005: Romania Health Program.

• 2006: National Tourism Photography Exhibition.

• 2011: International Forum for Health Tourism (FITS).

• 2013: Launch of the responsible tourism program.

• 2014: Establishment of the Romania Health Medical Cluster.

• 2016: Launch of Caleido, a cultural platform dedicated to diversity.

• 2020+: Institutional maturation through the expansion of the portfolio with European projects (employment, training, social inclusion, environmental education).

• Present: Consolidation of the conceptual framework: human infrastructure, productive hospitality, integrated health, living culture, Essential Romania.
