The Amfiteatru Foundation was founded in 2000 with the mission of affirming the identities, people and communities of Romania.
In a context marked by the challenges of European integration and the pressures of globalization, the organization generates programs, projects, platforms, networks and interventions that demonstrate that sustainable development is built through knowledge, cooperation and the value drawn from local resources.
The Foundation’s initiatives are rooted in programs designed to foster community development by leveraging human potential and social capital. A territory strengthens itself through the way it builds relationships with people, with resources and with knowledge. Education, tourism, culture, health and local identity are not separate sectors, but complementary dimensions of development.

Our values
• Humanism: The core trait of our work. Every project is designed by understanding communities as living organisms, not abstract entities.
• Sustainability: Our programs are designed for the long term. Meaningful impact leaves behind skills, networks, tools, and institutional memory
• Agent of Change: We contribute to community adaptation, recognizing that change is a constant reality.
• Pragmatism: We are committed to a results-oriented approach, concrete actions, and measurable objectives.
Vision
Amfiteatru is a space for dialogue and a model for the architecture of shared knowledge. The name reflects the way we work: thinking grounded in reality, produced in front of the community and for it.
Areas of work
• Operational area: Projects that directly reach beneficiaries and communities (professional training, career counseling, environmental education, social inclusion, international cultural cooperation).
• Connectivity area: The ability to connect actors who normally work separately (local administrations, academia, non-governmental organizations, professionals, communities).
• Professional area: Clarifying and introducing concepts into public discourse (human infrastructure, productive hospitality, integrated health, identity as a driver of development, living culture).
