From October 11 to 13, 2019, the sixth edition of the Forum for Responsible Tourism took place, an event organized by the Amfiteatru Foundation and the Association of Tourism Journalists and Writers of Romania.
The host of the event was The Ark, a place rich in history in one of the most representative areas of Bucharest – Uranus Street, a few hundred meters from the Palace of Parliament, the People’s Salvation Cathedral, and the Romanian Academy. The space enclosed between them redefines Sector 5 of the Capital, being part of the transformations that Romania has gone through since its formation and which continue today.
This year, the Forum for Responsible Tourism featured a new component – the Responsible Tourism Fair. Thus, the series of conferences within the Forum had a practical counterpart. Visitors and participants explored over 20 stands, ranging from guesthouses to crafts and decorative arts, from tastings to film screenings and photo exhibitions.
With each edition, the Forum has expanded its reach so that the information, ideas, and concepts presented could reach representative audiences. Students from specialized high schools and faculties, future professionals in the hospitality field, were present. They complemented the usual audience of our event – entrepreneurs, specialists, professors, representatives of local and central authorities, journalists, animators, and people passionate about the field.
